Plasma donation went off without a hitch. It was kind of interesting to watch the process. First it takes blood out, seperates it, and then puts the whole blood back in your body and the plasma in a bottle. It took a little over an hour to get the amount I could donate.

Blood, Blisters, & Bruises
Only one bad one in the lot, bruises. I would prefer not to have the blisters too, but they do let me know I'm alive and am able to exercise.
I am working on leading a healthier life and getting rid of some of my excess weight. I'm not going for the skinny minny or stick figure, just healthy. I've started working out with my kids 2 days a week, walking on the days I don't, and walking to school 2 days a week. I went for a walk today from the fish hatchery to the train cars and back...that's where the blisters come in. I'm not sure why my feet blister so easily but it is right on the ball of my foot, just under the big toe. A part that you frequently hit when walking. Any suggestions for getting rid of blisters before they ever begin????
Yesterday I had an amazing amount of freetime at work because 2 of my classes were on a field trip...this is where the bruises come in. I decided I would use that time to print some labels in the computer lab. While sliding my chair into the desk I slammed my knee into the table leg. Yep, it was one of those where you just want to scream and start crying (similar to my kids who fall during gym and they know I noticed), but because of where you are and you're an adult you really can't. It hurt all day, and of course things jump out in front of you and you keep bumping it. So last night when I went to bed I put IcyHot on it. I've found that works well at keeping a bruise from forming too bad, don't ask me why though, any body know the answer to that one????
Blood comes into the picture on Saturday, actually it will be plasma. As part of my supplement-my-income plan, I'm hoping to become a plasma donor. I start on Saturday with a physical, not quite sure what that intails (sp?), but it is supposed to take 3 hours for the first time. It must be a little more involved than just giving blood. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds. Hopefully they don't say that I have too many bruises to give, you just can't get away from all of the balls and flying feet when you're a gym teacher.
I even had a girl accidentally punch me in the face, she wasn't paying attention and flipped her hand behind her, nailing me on the nose. And they say teachers don't need hazard pay, I would like to know what they call biting, hitting, kicking, and spitting would be called, not to mention thrown lunches, shoes, socks, and glass! It's true all of those have happened to me in the four years I have been teaching.

Saturday So So
What an interesting week. My first paycheck came in and let's just say I started looking for a part-time job so I can buy groceries. However, God has blessed me with an opportunity to apply for a job I never thought I would have, working at Stage Line Pizza. I needed something that would be really flexible with my school schedule and give me the time off when I have after school events or classes. It is owned by a parent of two of my students. After talking with her I really felt it was the opportunity that God was presenting. I went in that day and applied and am now waiting to hear back. Please pray that if this isn't what He wants that the doors will close and new ones will open.
We also had the 25th Anniversary celebration at the church last night. It was beautifully decorated and so many wonderful people were there. The dinner was great and the music excellent. Unfortunately we had a few glitches with the computer but hopefully not so much that others would know, me mainly because I was the one sitting behind it.
I was also very excited this week to get to visit with Adam and have dinner with him while he is in Great Falls getting training. I know he's only been gone for a week and a half but I do miss him. He is my best friend and it's just not the same talking on the phone. It's amazing to see the difference that little bit of time made. There has been such a growth in him, it is wonderful to see. I know that he will be very blessed in Helena and I am so glad that God opened those doors for him.

Monday Madness
I needed a chance to vent so I wrote out this whole schpeel, and then realized that it really was not professional, and since it was about my job decided against it. Here's what I do need to say though. I need prayer for my attitude towards work. I love my job, however, there are some things happening in my department that are making it very, very stressful, and they don't really pertain to my teaching the children, but after school activities. I'm a little frustrated and tend to blow up instead of talking calmly, please pray that the Lord will guide my words or hold my mouth shut so I don't say the wrong thing and make the situation worse.

Friday Flashback

This is only a little over 3 years old, but so many lives in these pictures have changed in so many ways that I decided it was worth a flashback. + it always gives me a chuckle when I see it. I miss these times! These were taken in Sum Sum's old apartment when they threw a surprise graduation party for me.
The picture on the left is my wonderfully fabulous Mama. Johnny is sleeping up top with Summer's cabbage patch kids, we just partied too hard for the kid.
Then you have the picture on the right, what a group of friends! And man how their lives have changed. Daniel is back in Arkansas and is getting married in October. Mandi lives in California with her husband Charles and is working with the youth of their church. Sum Sum, I don't know, she's still pretty stubborn and ornery, but I guess that is why we get along so well, we understand each other's sarcasm :)~
