Looking for tips

Okay, so I need some advice or tips on something that is near and dear to my heart...consideration for notifying people if you aren't going to make it to something you said you would do. It drives me nuts how many people don't let you know that they aren't going to make it. Most of my friends know that this is a great big (I stress big) pet peeve of mine, and yet many of them still do it. How do I truely get the message across?

Man, this is a tough one. But sometimes I think we've made it tougher than it actually is. I've had to call friends quite a few times and explain to them what's come up, or that I've overcommitted myself without thinking about it. Now I've gotten a lot better at saying no.

If your friends already know this is a pet peeve of yours (I remember that about you, too. Hee-hee!) then maybe you could light-heartedly ask why they didn't call and remind them you wouldn't be upset, but would rather want to know they can't come instead. You could also remind them that next time if they could RSVP no then maybe you could invite someone else in their place who wouldn't have been able to come otherwise. Just some ideas. Hope all is well with you!!!
